ORAL CARE
Product

When you get older, it affects the body. The same goes for teeth. Because your teeth have been around for a while, it's not surprising that they start to deteriorate. Therefore, extra attention paid to your oral care is necessary. Attention from yourself, but also from the dentist and other oral care experts. Regular check-ups are therefore highly recommended. Even if you have dentures, they should be checked regularly to make sure they are still in place and that the gums around them are healthy.

Why a dental insurance? Badly cared for teeth can cause many complications in daily life. Besides bleeding and pain, you may be restricted in eating certain foods or drinking (hot) drinks. In addition to being very annoying, this can also result in being underweight or lacking vitamins and minerals because eating and drinking are no longer as easy as they used to be.Problems that particularly affect the elderly include gum inflammation, problems with the jawbone or tooth erosion as the tooth enamel wears away. In addition to the daily problems, there are many other risks associated with poor oral hygiene. More and more scientific studies show that there are many more far-reaching health problems that can lurk behind it. These include an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, lung problems and dementia. Furthermore, the use of medication, which is more common among senior citizens, can affect saliva production. When this decreases, it can cause a dry mouth, making it harder for bacteria to be broken down. Simply put: taking good care of your teeth is extremely important!
